We promote sustainable consumption by providing durable, high-quality sleep products that are easy to care for. We only use high-quality materials that are proven to be safe and durable. We are constantly exploring new material innovations that are even more sustainable to manufacture and recycle. We develop our product packaging by looking for solutions and materials that make it as plastic-free and easy to recycle as possible.

We take responsibility for the different stages in the life cycle of our products. We help consumers take good care of their products so that they last as long as possible. We are always looking for new ways to extend the life cycle of our products or recycle the materials used in them. We organise recycling campaigns in which we collect used duvets from consumers and donate them to animal shelters. Customers can return used duvets to Familon Outlets at any time of year. We donate unsold products and display items to charity.

We care about the wellbeing of the people who make our products. Our membership of the amfori BSCI sustainable trade initiative helps us make our production chain increasingly socially responsible, and all our manufacturers are committed to Familon’s Code of Conduct.

Most of Familon’s products are manufactured in Wendre Group’s factories in Pärnu, Estonia. Our beds are manufactured in Rääma and our pillows and duvets in Lina, in one of the most modern factories in Europe. When it comes to sustainability, the factory strives for continuous improvement. For example, 35 per cent of the energy used by the factory is produced by solar panels on its roof. By-products are utilised to the greatest possible extent as material for new Familon products.

We manufacture our products as locally as possible to reduce the carbon footprint of transport. We select logistics partners that have been granted the ISO 14001 environmental certification and are committed to reducing CO₂ emissions. Almost all our products are transported by road.

Orders made at the Familon.fi online store are delivered by Matkahuolto, Posti and DB Schenker in a manner that minimises the environmental impact of transport. We are pleased that our customers also make sustainable purchase decisions and return very few items ordered from the online store. There is no need to return a high-quality product that has been chosen with care, and this also saves the environment.
